Pulse Pharmaceuticals has received approval for its nano-carrier entrapped Vitamin D3 oral dispersion from the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI).
The approval transforms advanced nano pharmaceutical research into a regulated, patient-ready product, the company said on Thursday.
Founder and Managing Director K. V. Rambabu said such an approval is probably first in the world. It is set to pave the way Pulse Pharmaceuticals to take the product to some of the neighbouring South Asian countries besides helping it in seeking regulatory approval in highly regulated markets, including the U.S.
The company, which he said has been working in nano pharmaceutical drug delivery since 2010 said uses nanotechnology to improve how well a drug works, its bioavailability, how easily it is tolerated and the overall patient experience. It has developed several proprietary platform technologies to effectively deliver medicines.
