The mega water grid project works underway in Pulivendula constituency have gained momentum following the recent allocation of around ₹280 crore under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and Amarajeevi Jaladhara schemes. As of now, 96% of the works valued at approximately ₹426 crore have been completed.
The project made no substantial progress during the YSR Congress Party’s (YSRCP) tenure, except for the partial laying of pipelines and partial civil works.
Considering the critical nature of the project for the people of the constituency, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan secured the fund allocation, and works have since been progressing at a brisk pace, according to an official release. He is monitoring the project.
The Pulivendula mega water grid project was launched under the JJM with an estimated cost of ₹480 crore to meet the drinking water needs of 5.50 lakh people in seven mandals.
