Puducherry L-G distributes nutrition kits to TB patients

Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan on Tuesday handed over nutrition kits to tuberculosis (TB) patients under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan programme at the Primary Health Centre in Murungapakkam village near here.

Around 149 persons are receiving TB treatment at the Primary Health Centre in Murungapakkam alone. Besides nutrition kits, free diagnosis and treatment, the patients are provided ₹1,000 per month as incentive under Central Government’s Nikshay Poshan Yojana. As many as 625 patients are receiving the incentive amount through Direct Benefit Transfer mode in the Union Territory, the Health department said.
