Public urged to use eco-friendly Ganesh idols in Tirupati
Tirupati residents are participating in workshops and competitions to promote the use of eco-friendly Ganesh idols made from clay and natural materials. Local officials and organizations are encouraging citizens to avoid chemicals and Plaster of Paris during the upcoming Vinayaka Chaturthi festival.

Several events and programmes were held in Tirupati to create awareness on using eco-friendly Ganesh idols during this year’s Vinayaka Chaturthi festival.
A creative workshop titled “Make Your Own Vinayaka” was organised by the By Birth Tirupati (BBT) group to raise awareness at Sri Aurobindo Vidyalaya in the Sri Aurobindo Society premises in Tirupati on Saturday. The workshop was organised for children till the age of 15, with the aim of encouraging them to make eco-friendly Ganesh idols using clay. Around 100 young children from Sri Aurobindo Vidyalaya and other schools participated in the event.
