Public sponsor 25 CCTV cameras to be fitted in Sankarankovil
Residents and traders in Sankarankovil have donated 25 CCTV cameras to assist local police with crime prevention and crowd management. This initiative aims to enhance security during large public festivals like the Aadi thavasu.

Even as the police, as part of its crime prevention initiative, have taken special measures to fit CCTV cameras across the district, particularly in towns attracting huge crowd during festivals and other celebrations, the public have sponsored 25 ‘electronic eyes’ to be fitted in Sankarankovil.
While encouraging the public, particularly traders, to fit CCTV cameras in their homes, business establishments and also in the adjoining areas to keep criminals away, the police had requested the service organisations to sponsor ‘electronic eyes’ to prevent crimes.
When Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar renewed this appeal recently, the public of Pottal and Gandhi Nagar in Sankarankovil responded positively.
