Public Procurement Authority Reports 597bn Birr in Digital Transactions
The Public Procurement and Property Administration Authority of Ethiopia processed over 597 billion birr through its digital procurement platform in the 2025/26 fiscal year. The initiative aims to modernize government resource management and increase transparency across federal and regional institutions.

The Public Procurement and Property Administration Authority said it has processed more than 597 billion birr in completed transactions through the electronic government procurement platform during the 2025/26 fiscal year, as the system expands across public institutions.
The platform was used by 172 federal institutions and 196 branch offices during the 12-month period, while the number of registered suppliers reached more than 135,000, Director General Meseret Meskale said on July 30 during a high-level meeting with higher education officials in Addis Ababa.
Meseret said the authority has digitised procurement, asset management and disposal operations as part of efforts to modernise public services and improve the management of government resources.
“We have systematically digitized procurement, asset management, and disposal operations,” she said.
