Public invited to share views on Green Hydrogen Environmental and Social Assessments

The Namibia Green Hydrogen Programme is inviting public feedback on its draft Strategic Environmental and Social Assessment for the Southern Corridor Development Initiative. Stakeholders can review the documents and submit comments until September 4, 2026.
Why it matters
Public consultation is a critical step in ensuring that large-scale green energy projects in developing regions adhere to environmental and social sustainability standards.
THE Namibia Green Hydrogen Programme (NGH2P) and ERM will host an online Stakeholder Advisory Group meeting to discuss the findings of the draft Strategic Environmental and Social Assessment (SESA) for Green Energy Production and Industrialisation in the Southern Corridor Development Initiative (S-CDI).
The meeting will take place on Thursday, 3 September 2026, from 10h00 to 15h00. Those interested in attending are advised to register by emailing SESAContact@erm.com.
The SESA considers the wider environmental and social implications of development in the Southern Corridor, as well as the measures needed to manage these impacts.
