Public installation of Ganesha idols for Ganesh Chaturthi will take place at 492 places in Udupi district and 174 places in Mangaluru city.

Udupi Superintendent of Police (SP) Hariram Shankar said idols would be installed and immersed at 415 general, 74 sensitive and three ‘hyper-sensitive’ locations.

In Udupi district, immersion of 211 idols will be held on Monday, followed by 108 visarjans on Tuesday. A total of 114 visarjans will be held on Wednesday. There will be 13 visarjans on Thursday, 29 on Friday, four on Saturday, and five on Sunday. There will be one visarjan each day from September 22 to September 24, two on September 25, one on September 26, and two visarjans on September 29.
