Public forum seeks naming of Warangal airport after Rudrama Devi

A public forum in Warangal has passed a resolution to name the city's new airport after the Kakatiya ruler Rudrama Devi. The proposal will be submitted to government authorities to honor the region's historical and architectural legacy.

A public forum organised by Pragna Bharati in Warangal has unanimously adopted a resolution recommending that the new airport at Warangal be named - Kakatiya Maharani Rudrama Devi Airport.
Historians, legal experts, academics, doctors, lawyers, and citizens attended the ‘Charcha Vedika’ on Wednesday, where the resolution was adopted. The organisers said a formal memorandum would be submitted to the Chief Minister, Governor, and Union Ministry of Civil Aviation.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has recently invited public suggestions to name the new airport in Mamnoor after the State government completed the required land acquisition, and handed the land over to the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
Vice-President of Pragna Bharati, Telangana, Mamidi Giridhar, highlighted the valour and administrative legacy of Kakatiya ruler Rudrama Devi and stressed the need to associate her name with the airport.
