PSGR Krishnammal College to host FSSAI awareness programme on food safety, hygiene

PSGR Krishnammal College for Women will host an FSSAI awareness and food safety training workshop for college administrators and canteen managers. The initiative aims to improve food hygiene standards in educational institutions.

The Association of Self-Financing Arts, Science and Management Colleges of Tamil Nadu (ASFASMTN) has teamed up with the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department to organise in Coimbatore an awareness programme on food handling. This comes against the backdrop of inspections at college canteens and hostels.
The programme will be conducted at PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Coimbatore, on August 24, president of the association Ajeet Kumar Lal Mohan said.
The ‘FSSAI Awareness Programme and FoSTaC (Food Safety Training and Certification) training workshop will teach two representatives from each institution the nitty-gritty of food safety and hygiene; FSSAI rules and regulations; safe food handling; canteen hygiene and management; and food safety compliance.
