PSEi slides to 5,800 support level amid growth, fuel price fears

Local stocks dropped for a third consecutive trading session as investors grew increasingly concerned about slowing economic growth and unloaded shares to raise capital for an upcoming blockbuster initial public offering. The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) fell 29.23 points, or 0.5 percent, to close at 5,814.56 on Tuesday, Sept. 23. Conglomerates led the decline, offsetting gains in service sector shares.
