Andy Nguyen, the developer behind the PS5 Linux project that released earlier in 2026 , has officially declared that he will be stepping away from the PS5 modding scene before the release of support for Linux on the PS5 Pro that was under development.

In an emotionally charged message on X , the developer said that his work is "all down the sink," thanks to changes in the PS5 modding community heralded by LLM coding assistants. He explains that the modding scene is now "just a bunch of noobs using LLMs and writing hacks they don't even understand," going on to say that "slop kiddies" found the last remaining Hypervisor bug in the PlayStation 5 Pro and reported it to Sony.
