Principal Secretary for Medical Services Ouma Oluga has called on universities, health professionals and alumni to play a greater role in supporting Kenya’s health sector reforms through research, innovation and practical solutions.
Speaking at the University of Nairobi Faculty of Health Sciences Alumni Breakfast Meeting, Oluga said institutions of higher learning have a critical role in preparing a workforce capable of responding to the changing needs of the health sector.
He urged universities to align their research programmes with Kenya’s healthcare priorities and focus on solutions that can improve service delivery and address challenges facing the sector.
“Universities, health professionals and alumni have a critical role to play in supporting Kenya’s health reforms through research, innovation and practical solutions,” Oluga said.
