Province to Audit Archaeological Records Following Innu Nation Concerns
The Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador has ordered an independent audit of the Provincial Archaeology Office's holdings regarding the Innu Nation. This follows concerns raised by the Innu regarding the misrepresentation of their history in provincial exhibits.

The Premier has committed to an “independent and comprehensive” audit of all materials related to the Innu presence in what is now Labrador being held in the Provincial Archaeology Office.
The Innu Nation recently raised concerns about how their archaeological record was being interpreted, forcing the cancellation of Expo Labrador earlier this summer.
