A CLASH of protocols between the Zulu monarch and the government has forced the separation of what was meant to be a combined high-profile Heritage Day event.

The government and the Zulu monarch initially planned to host National Heritage Day together at King Zwelithini Stadium on Thursday, 24 September.

Following their agreement, the Zulu monarch moved their annual King Shaka commemoration, Umkhosi weLembe, from KwaDukuza to Zwelithini Stadium for the event that was set to be addressed by both President Cyril Ramaphosa and King Misuzulu.

But Daily Sun has established that protocols clashed, forcing the government to move National Heritage Day to Rosemoor Stadium in Thembalethu, George, in the Western Cape, where it will be led by President Ramaphosa.
