Protesters opposing Cabinet meeting held and released

Members of different organisations who protested against the Cabinet meeting, or intended to put forth their demands, were taken into custody by the police at different places in the city and released later on Friday.
Members of the Mangaluru Bar Association staged a protest citing lack of action by the State government in preventing problems to advocates and others owing to mobile phone signal jammers installed at the Mangaluru District Prison. The advocates were taken into custody soon after they started marching out of the District Court premises.
Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) workers staged a protest decrying the grant of bail to the accused in the murder of Rehman Koltamajalu. The police took away the protesters and released them a few hours after inquiry at a city police station.
