Protest march to be held by Shivamogga district unit of BJP

The Shivamogga district unit of the BJP will take out a two-day protest march beginning Thursday, opposing the implementation of the recommendations of the Kasturirangan committee report on the Western Ghats.
BJP district general secretary Harikrishna Mattur, addressing a press conference in Shivamogga on Wednesday, said the party would begin the protest march at Halalakkavalli on September 10. Former Minister Araga Jnanendra, Shivamogga MLA S.N. Channabasappa, former MLC R.K. Siddaramanna, and others will take part in the march.
On the first day, the march will cover Kadekal, Kuskur, Yaraganal, and Lakkinkoppa. On the second day, participants will continue the march to Umblebailu via Thotadakere and Ganedalu, where a public meeting will be held at 11.30 a.m.
