Prime Minister Christopher Luxon believes Christchurch shows what New Zealand needs to look like – and it doesn’t require a natural disaster to press the reset button.
Speaking at NZME’s Project Canterbury business breakfast at One NZ Stadium this morning, Luxon explained why he sees Christchurch as a shining example of New Zealand’s future.
“When you come here to Christchurch, we’ve got high school attendance, we’ve got outstanding secondary schools here, we’ve got a great tech, we’ve got a world-class university with science and engineering schools that are absolutely fantastic,” Luxon said.
“We’ve actually got, for the first time, a start-up community that’s coming out of that university, academics partnering with our entrepreneurs, and Crown Research Institutes to actually build businesses to create high-paying jobs for young people to stay here rather than having to go overseas. And Dawn Aerospace is a great example.”
