Process to refund ₹10,000 EMD to Telangana’s affordable flats applicants initiated
The Telangana Housing Board has begun refunding the ₹10,000 earnest money deposit to applicants who were not selected for affordable flats in Hyderabad. Over 60,000 people applied for the 7,340 available units, and the board is currently verifying the eligibility of the selected beneficiaries.

Telangana Housing Board has initiated the process of refunding ₹10,000 earnest money deposit (EMD) to applicants of Indiramma Housing towers in Hyderabad (CURE) who were not selected in the draw of lots. The amount would be credited to the same accounts used for transfer the EMD during the application stage. The process would be completed in a week.
A few people who paid ₹10,000 in cash or through others accounts have requested the Board to refund the amount to the applicants. Board’s Vice-Chairman V.P. Gautham said that measures towards this would be taken. People have to apply for this through the Board’s website by Thursday (September 10, 2026).
