Detectives in Lari, Kiambu County, launched a murder investigation after a 27-year-old woman was found dead in a lodging within a building housing the bar where she worked.
The deceased was identified as Zawadi Mwathi, a 27-year-old woman who worked at a bar in the area.
According to police, Mwathi reportedly went missing from the bar at about 10:30pm after serving some customers.
Concerned customers began searching for her before she was discovered inside one of the lodgings within the same building.
Police officers who visited the scene found her body lying on a bed with her hands and neck tied with pieces of cloth.
