Probe as Catholic priest found dead in his house in Doldol Parish, Laikipia

Detectives are investigating an incident where a Catholic priest was found dead inside his house at Our Lady of Rosary Doldol Parish in Laikipia North Sub-County.

The deceased, identified as Father Lucio Karioki, was discovered after he failed to respond when a fellow priest attempted to wake him to attend the parish’s daily morning Mass on Tuesday.

According to police, another Father at the institution raised the alarm at around 6:30 a.m. after he tried to wake Father Karioki but found him unable to speak or respond.

This caused concern, and police were alerted.

The priest’s house was found locked from the inside, prompting officers to use force to gain entry. Upon entering, they found Father Karioki already dead.

Police said he had no visible injuries, although foam was observed coming from his mouth. His age was not immediately known.
