NEW DELHI: More than 200 academicians have written an open letter to Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, objecting to her remarks about IIT Madras director V Kamakoti during the Lok Sabha debate on the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026.The signatories said public representatives should engage with ideas through reasoned debate rather than ridicule and argued that reducing an academician to a label weakens scientific discourse and public debate.The letter comes after Priyanka Gandhi, while questioning the composition of the government's education reform panel during the debate on Tuesday, referred to a 'gau-mutra expert'.
