SRM Prime Hospital has installed the EndoFLIP system, a sensor-based technology that enables doctors to accurately diagnose and treat esophageal (food pipe) disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux disease, achalasia cardia, and other swallowing disorders, a press release said. The technology provides real-time data on the function, opening, and flexibility of the oesophagus and the valve between the food pipe and the stomach, enabling doctors to make informed treatment decisions and perform complex oesophageal procedures with greater precision and confidence. S Arulprakash, clinical lead and senior gastroenterologist at the hospital, said the technology would help determine the optimal degree of correction with scientific precision.
