Prioritise Nutrition, Immunisation For Children’s Healthy Growth, Doctor Urges Parents

A South Africa-based Nigerian medical practitioner, Dr Ademola Tosin Ojo, has urged parents and caregivers to place greater emphasis on proper nutrition, exclusive breastfeeding and routine immunisation to guarantee healthy growth and development in children.
Dr Ojo made the call during a health programme on The African Portal Radio TV.
Speaking on child health and development, he said adequate nutrition plays a critical role in brain development, physical growth, immunity and overall wellbeing.
While monitoring the health talk program on Saturday by Daily Independent Newspapers Reporter Dr. Ademola Ojo said, “Children need a balanced diet that includes vegetables and fruits, whole grains and staples, protein-rich foods like eggs, fish, beans and meat, as well as healthy fats,” he said. “Good nutrition gives them the energy and nutrients required to stay active, grow properly and fight infections.”
