Prince Harry, Meghan returning to U.K. with their children, says British newspaper
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly moving back to the United Kingdom with their two children after living in California for over six years. While the couple will not resume official royal duties, the move will allow King Charles III to spend more time with his grandchildren during his ongoing cancer treatment.
Why it matters
This move marks a significant shift in the dynamics of the British Royal Family and may signal a reconciliation or a new chapter in the relationship between the Sussexes and the monarchy.
Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, have decided to return to the United Kingdom, but they won’t resume their roles as working members of the royal family, Britain’s Daily Telegraph newspaper reported.
King Charles III was alerted to the decision on Sunday (August 16, 2026) and wasn’t told about it during the couple’s visit to the UK last month.
The Telegraph – which broke the story – reports that Harry and Meghan’s children, Prince Archie (7), and Princess Lilibet (5), have already enrolled at British schools and will start classes in September.
