There are 11 working members of the royal family. WPA Pool/Getty Images Prince Harry and Meghan Markle aren't working royals despite living in the UK again. There are 11 working family members in the British royal family. A majority of those members are older than 75, including King Charles and Queen Camilla. Though the royal family itself is growing, the number of people who work for the British monarchy might be smaller than you think. Working royals represent the monarchy at royal engagements, from charitable events to state ceremonies. Kids like Prince George or extended members of the royal family like Princess Beatrice don't attend events in an official capacity. There are currently only 11 working royals, and many of them are over 75. King Charles is on the younger end at 77, 50 years older than Queen Elizabeth was when she inherited the crown.
