Prime suspect in Afrigo Band legend Moses Matovu's murder arrested in Nansana

Police in Kampala have arrested the primary suspect linked to the murder of veteran Afrigo Band musician Moses Matovu.

The suspect, identified as 41-year-old Vincent Nsamba, was apprehended in Ochange Ward, Yesu Amala, Nansana Division in Wakiso District following an intensive joint manhunt by intelligence and task force teams.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Rachael Kawala confirmed the Thursday evening arrest, noting that forensic teams and detectives are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.

The arrest comes hours after details emerged regarding the violent confrontation outside a residence in Kibuli, Makindye Division, early Thursday morning. According to preliminary police reports, the incident occurred at approximately 5:30 AM on September 24, 2026.
