Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday virtually inaugurated the redeveloped railway stations at Mangalagiri, Rayanapadu and Cumbum in Andhra Pradesh under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS).
Mr. Modi, along with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, inaugurated the three stations, which are equipped with modern passenger-friendly amenities, water conservation measures, solar power systems, green spaces and improved accessibility features.
The three stations in Andhra Pradesh were among the 75 Amrit Bharat stations across the country inaugurated by the Prime Minister.
Rayanapadu railway station, redeveloped at a cost of ₹35 crore, has been developed as a satellite station to ease congestion at Vijayawada Junction. Several express and passenger trains are expected to pass through Rayanapadu without entering Vijayawada Junction.
