The Vizianagaram Superintendent of Police has launched an awareness campaign called 'Meetho-Mee SP' to educate citizens on crime prevention. The initiative focuses on issues like domestic violence, drug abuse, and social media safety for young people.

Vizianagaram Superintendent of Police A.R. Damodar on Thursday said that the department was giving top priority to curb crime and as part of it wide publicity is being given on the consequences of police cases in subjects related to domestic violence, crime against women, consumption of drugs, alcohol and drink driving.
He told The Hindu that the department had launched ‘Meetho- Mee SP’ programme to make people law abiding and good citizens.
“We have been distributing nearly three lakh pamphlets under this awareness programme. Our personnel will directly meet people under door-to-door programme. This will make parents to guide youngsters about the consequences with the involvement of crimes knowingly or unknowingly,” he added.
