ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Sitting behind the resolute desk, President Donald Trump announced $54 billion is coming from South Korea to Alaska’s proposed LNG pipeline project, using it as a pitch to Alaskans to re-elect Sen. Dan Sullivan.
The incumbent senator, wearing a blue tie with Alaska’s eight gold stars, stood directly behind the president.
“This is a great senator who is totally responsible for this pipeline,” Trump said. “This is a man that worked with me by shoulder to shoulder.
“He’s running for office. He’s a spectacular senator, not just for Alaska, he’s great for the world, for our country and the world. What he’s done is so important and he’s got my ear.
“He’s had my ear for a long time on Alaska.”
Members of Trump’s cabinet were also relieved by the deal, jokingly saying they would hear less from Sullivan with the investment.
