President to officiate at Kunene Mining Summit

OPUWO- President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah is expected to officially open the Kunene Mining Summit today.
The inaugural mining summit is set to take place in Opuwo from 7 to 9 October, with the regional leadership hoping to position the region as an attractive destination for mining investment and value addition.
The summit is being hosted by Kunene Governor Vipuakuje Muharukua, supported by Epangelo Mining and will bring together local, national and international mining industry players, policymakers, relevant government ministries, artisanal miners, traditional leaders and other stakeholders.
Muharukua said the summit aims to attract investment to Kunene while strengthening collaboration between mining companies, government and local communities.
“This summit will bring our local artisanal miners closer to investors without middlemen and expose our traditional leaders to an opportunity to have direct contact with decision-makers in the industry,” said the governor.
