President William Ruto on Friday officially opened the General Service Unit (GSU), Healthcare Centre at the Social Health Authority Block in Embakasi, Nairobi.

The facility which is set to strengthen access to healthcare for officers and their families was launched during the 50th GSU Recruits Passing-Out Parade where the Head of State is presiding over the event.

Speaking at the ceremony, President William Ruto at the 50th GSU Recruits Passing-Out Parade in Embakasi, Nairobi said that through Usalama Cover under the Social Health Authority, more than 138,000 police and prison officers and their eligible dependants have been brought under a dedicated medical scheme.

The cover also provides access to outpatient and inpatient care, surgery, maternity, chronic and pre-existing conditions, as well as specialist, dental, optical, and diagnostic services.
