President grants Ladakh L-G additional duties of J&K

President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday (September 8, 2026) granted Ladakh Lieutenant-Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena responsibility for the functions of the Lt. Governor of J&K in addition to his own duties, ahead of the oath ceremony of new Chief Justice of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh.
“The President of India is pleased to appoint Mr. Saxena, Lt. Governor of Ladakh to discharge the functions of the Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, in addition to his own duties, during the absence, on leave, of Manoj Sinha, Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir,” an official communique said.
