President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has personally funded two prefabricated houses worth N$400 000 for two women in Windhoek.
According to a Presidency statement issued on Friday, the houses, valued at N$200 000 each, were handed over to Menesia Ngunovandu at 8ste Laan, Otjomuise, and Johanna Kambwela at Kilimanjaro settlement at Katutura.
Namibian-owned Yambuka Housing built the houses using prefabricated technology.
“The initiative was intended to test the feasibility of the construction model and demonstrate how innovative building technologies could help address Namibia’s estimated housing deficit of 500 000 units,” the Presidency says.
