Preseason Game Thread: Knicks vs. Wizards, October 8, 2026

Why it matters
Preseason games serve as a testing ground for team chemistry and new roster acquisitions before the official season begins.
The World Champion Knicks (0-1) return to Madison Square Garden tonight for their first home appearance since defeating the Spurs in June. Monday's 120-97 loss in Philadelphia featured brief starter minutes, 20 Knicks, and a ton of missed threes. Mike Brown wants more physicality tonight, and some made shots would be nice, too.
