Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), in its pre-sowing forecast for sesame, has worked out the price of good quality black sesame to be in the range of ₹140-₹145 a kg at the time of harvest.
To arrive at the price, the Domestic and Export Market Intelligence Cell (DEMIC) of the Centre for Agricultural and Rural Development Studies, TNAU, analysed the rates that prevailed at the Sivagiri Regulated Market of Erode district over the past 25 years.
