Manchester United edged Atletico Madrid 2-1 on Saturday after Bryan Mbeumo scored twice, earning his team the Snapdragon Cup title. The Red Devils came from behind in an impressive performance that saw them dominate part of the first half and score twice in the second to beat the Spanish side. Arnau Ortiz found the back of the net just five minutes into the game, creeping in at Tom Heaton’s far post to give Atletico Madrid the lead. Cameroon forward Mbeumo’s chance to equalise came from the penalty spot after Shea Lacey was tripped, and he wasted no time in converting from the spot. His second goal came after Jack Fletcher won the ball on the right, with Morten Hjulmand hitting the post late. Speaking to MUTV after the game, United head coach Michael Carrick had positive words for the boys.
