Prashant M. Wadnere posted as Water Resources Secretary
The Tamil Nadu government has appointed Prashant M. Wadnere as the new Secretary of Water Resources. He will concurrently manage his previous responsibilities as Secretary of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj.

The Tamil Nadu government on Saturday transferred Prashant M. Wadnere, Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, and posted him as Secretary, Water Resources. Mr. Wadnere will also hold the full additional charge as Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj. He replaces Satyabrata Sahoo as Secretary, Water Resources. The transfer assumes significance against the backdrop of the ongoing issues over the sharing of Cauvery water between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and the upper riparian State’s proposed construction of a balancing reservoir across the river at Mekedatu.
