Pralhad Joshi was appointed as the new Union Education Minister on Saturday (July 25, 2026) after the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan following nationwide protests.
The President of India has directed that Pralhad Joshi, Cabinet Minister, be assigned the charge of the Ministry of Education, in addition to his existing portfolio, as advised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Mr. Joshi is currently holds the portfolios of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and New and Renewable Energy.
