Badminton legend Prakash Padukone has called for greater consistency from Indian shuttlers following a disappointing performance at the Asian Games. He emphasized that while talent is abundant, players must strategically peak for major tournaments to avoid early exits.

Padukone's critique provides expert insight into the challenges facing Indian elite sports and the need for professionalized tournament management.
Indian badminton’s solitary bronze medal at the Asian Games should be viewed as a disappointment rather than an aberration, according to former All England champion Prakash Padukone, who believes the country’s leading shuttlers have the wherewithal to be far more consistent.
“It was a little disappointing. We should have done much better,” Padukone said here on Thursday. “Considering the kind of talent we have, we should have done much better. Even I was expecting, if not better, to at least equal last time’s medal tally.”
