Prakasam Collector urges officials to prepare list of polling stations ahead of local body polls

Ahead of the upcoming local body elections, Prakasam District Collector P. Raja Babu directed the officials to prepare a list of polling stations across the 62 divisions under Ongole Municipal Corporation (OMC) limits after the delimitation process. Presently, there are 50 divisions under the Ongole Municipal Corporation.
In a special meeting with officials of village Panchayats and Municipal Corporation at the Prakasam Bhavan in Ongole on Tuesday, the Collector said that additional ballot boxes should be provided to conduct the elections in view of the formation of the new divisions.
The Collector suggested to appoint Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant EROs required for the conduct of elections. He also requested that the draft voters list be released by September 3.
