More than two thirds people currently taking daily pills for HIV treatment would be willing to switch to a long-acting regimen, according to a systematic review and meta-analysis published in the journal AIDS . Willingness varied across studies, however, and most were conducted in high-income countries.

“Given that long-acting regimen preferences are highly individualized and difficult to predict, eligible individuals should be informed about this option where the clinical and contextual situation allows,” the review authors wrote.
