PORTLAND –The Portland Trail Blazers have announced basketball operations additions and promotions for the 2026-27 season including additions to head coach Micah Nori’s staff. Jay Triano, Mike Williams, Quinton Crawford, Gilbert Abraham and Leron Black have been named assistant coaches along with Pooh Jeter and Jason Luhnow as player development coaches.

A 2026 Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame Inductee, Triano brings two decades of NBA coaching experience to the Trail Blazers including two head coaching stints with the Toronto Raptors (2008-11) and Phoenix Suns (2017-18). The first Canadian-born head coach in NBA history, Triano also coached the Canadian National Team from 1999-04 and 2012-19. He represented Canada in three Olympic Games as a player. Triano returns to Portland after previously serving as an assistant coach from 2012-16. Most recently, he served as an assistant coach with the Dallas Mavericks during the 2025-26 season.
