Port of Klaipėda sees slight rise in H1 2026 TEU throughput
The Port of Klaipėda reported a 1.13% increase in container throughput for the first half of 2026, driven by new deep-sea services and regional demand. Other segments, including oil products and LNG, also saw significant growth.

The Port of Klaipėda has released its H1 2026 cargo figures, reporting higher throughput across most key segments.
Containerised cargo, the port’s largest segment, remained the main growth driver. In the first six months of the year, Klaipėda handled 700,000 TEU, up 1.13% from H1 2025. By comparison, the port handled 537,390 TEU in H1 2024. In tonnage terms, containerised cargo reached 7.2m tonnes, 12% more than in the same period of 2025. According to the Lithuanian port, growth was driven by rising sea transit volumes, the launch of a new deep-sea service linking Klaipėda directly with Asia, the continued expansion of short-sea services, and long-term investment in port infrastructure.
