Pope needs no further treatment for lung cancer, his doctors say

Pope Leo has been cleared of the need for further treatment following his recent lung cancer surgery. Doctors confirmed the cancer was localized and the Pope has resumed his public duties at the Vatican.
Why it matters
The health status of a global religious leader is a matter of significant international interest and potential impact on the Vatican's operations.
Histological examination results confirmed a diagnosis of pulmonary adenocarcinoma, a common form of lung cancer, with the disease remaining localized, the doctors said.
"A subsequent oncological evaluation has confirmed that no further therapy is required," the Pope's lead surgeon, Stefano Margaritora, and his personal physician, Luigi Carbone, said.
