Ponguleti counters BRS and BJP on 22-A with records, video evidence

Minister for Revenue Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy countered the allegations of Opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) over the inclusion of lands in the 22-A prohibited properties list, placing official records, registration data and video clips before the Telangana Legislative Assembly.
Initiating a short discussion on the Section 22-A of the Registrations Act, Mr. Ponguleti said the 22-A issue was not a recent development and that several disputed properties had been on the prohibited list for years.
“We inherited 22-A list from the BRS, which now is surprisingly making a hue and cry,” he said. The Minister also said the total extent of land under the 22-A list had declined from 1,02,52,690 acres when the Congress government assumed office on December 7, 2023, to 1,02,05,250 acres as on August 31, 2026, a reduction of 47,440 acres.
