Pondicherry University professor selected for Fulbright-Nehru fellowship
Professor D. Baranikanth from Pondicherry University has been awarded the Fulbright-Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellowship for 2026-27. He will conduct a nine-month research project on student mental health at Ohio University in the United States.

The United States-India Educational Foundation (Fulbright Commission) has awarded the Fulbright-Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellowship for 2026-27 to Professor D. Baranikanth of the Department of Applied Psychology in Pondicherry University.
A release from the University said under the fellowship, Mr. Baranikanth will undertake a nine-month-long research on student health at the Department of Counselling and Higher Education at Ohio University, Athens, Ohio. He will take up a research project on student mental health, an area of growing importance on college campuses in India and abroad, the release said.
