Polish PM set to visit India next month, defence cooperation to take centre stage

Ahead of Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s visit to India next month, Deputy Foreign Minister Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski said that more than selling things to India, Poland is interested in producing together, including in defence sector, to give the relationship a “strategic” depth.

Mr. Bartoszewski said that a group from the Indian Ministry of Defence is visiting Poland next week to form a joint working group.

“We (Poland and India) have been discussing in July and August how we can strengthen our relations in various ways. In August, I concentrated particularly on security and defence issues. We are not interested in selling more things to India, but we are more interested in really talking about producing together various things, so that in case of needs and shortages, each country can guarantee supply to the other,” the Deputy Foreign Minister said.
