The Karnataka Lokayukta police on Thursday caught a police constable red-handed while allegedly accepting a ₹20,000 bribe, but his colleague, who was also allegedly involved in the demand, managed to escape from the spot before the Lokayukta officers could identify him.
The accused have been identified as Parashuram and Veeresh, both attached to the Brahmapur Police Station in Kalaburagi city. According to the Lokayukta police, the two constables had allegedly demanded money from Kanna Raju Patil of Bapu Nagar, threatening to extern his son, Karthik, if he failed to pay the bribe.
