In a swift rescue operation, the Hindupur police in Sri Sathya Sai district traced a missing five-year-old girl within three hours and reunited her with her parents on Thursday.
Speaking to the media here, Superintendent of Police (SP) S. Satish Kumar said the child went missing around 8.30 a.m. near the Government Hospital in Hindupur, prompting panicked parents to alert police. “A special team was formed and the district police were put on high alert,” he said.
Special teams led by Additional SP K.V. Mahesh, along with two Circle Inspectors, a Sub-Inspector, and a crime party, launched a coordinated search, scanning for clues, questioning locals, combing nearby areas, and verifying CCTV footages.
Within three hours, the teams tracked the girl to Gouni Mekalapalli village in Roddam mandal. “The girl was found safe and was handed over to her parents,” the SP said.
